Comments from a Schubach Customer
Some kind words to a member of our Charter Sales Team:
“Megan,
The First Wednesday Poker Club of Coronado and I want to thank you again for your assistance in setting up our flight to Salt Lake City. You were very professional, compassionate and an absolute credit to your organization. Please let anyone know that I would attest to your superior customer service (including a very early morning call to let me know the plane was on its way). Thank you again for finding us an aircraft that was able to carry us all on such short notice. We all really appreciated it.
Thanks again,
Allan”

A unique service we provide that you may not know about.
HAZMAT stands for Hazardous Material, and generally speaking itâs wise to keep yourself away from it. However, there are times when such a material, chemical or biological item requires transportation by air. If you or your company are in the business of handling Hazardous Material, you know how hard it is to find an aviation company that can provide legal transportation for it. Since 2008, Schubach Aviation has been approved by the FAA for ârecognition and carriage of hazardous materialsâ.  We worked with the FAA to designate aircraft from our fleet for this purpose, and train pilots to meet the standards to transport it safely to destinations all over the world. There are only a handful of charter operators in the country with this approval.  Sometimes letting people know what you can offer is a way to build business relationships that you never had.
With the diversity of San Diegoâs business and emerging presence in the biotech industry, we are aware of the need that local companies may have in transporting time sensitive HAZMAT shipments that require a charter operator to have FAA approval to transport it. We can and do provide this service in ways that UPS or FedEx cannot. Please contact me directly if your business could benefit from this service offered by Schubach Aviation.  I look forward to speaking with you!

Schubach Adds Hawker 800XP to Fleet
Schubach Aviation has augmented its fleet of corporate, luxury aircraft with a newly acquired Hawker 800XP, announced Henry Schubach, president.
The Hawker 800XP is best suited for transcontinental trips to the East Coast, Canada or Mexico, or for passengers wanting spacious cabin room for shorter-range trips. The aircraft is equipped with Hawker factory winglets. Besides looking slick, the winglets increase lift and aircraft performance, resulting in extended range and efficient high speed cruise at high altitude.
Featuring the largest cabin in the mid-size jet category, the Hawker 800XP can accommodate up to eight passengers. Amenities include leather seats, an enclosed lavatory, entertainment center, flight phone, and galley with refreshment center and mini-bar. A DVD and video console with forward and aft airshow screens provide up-to-the-minute flight progress to passengers. This aircraft has also been upgraded with an iridium satellite phone system for phone conversations mid-flight.
With a cruising speed of 500 miles an hour at a maximum altitude of 41,000 feet, the Hawker 800XP is a mid-sized jet that feels like a larger one, offering maximum passenger comfort, extended range and superior reliability. Whatever the destination — from New York or Chicago to Cancun, Mex. — charter customers will enjoy a superb ride aboard this luxury aircraft.
Top 5 Reasons to Fly with Schubach Aviation
I have recently received some inquiries from customers asking what separates Schubach from our competition. Having worked for other jet charter companies, I can say firsthand that there is a lot more to flying private than just getting from here to there. Here are five points to consider before booking your next flight:
Experience: No one has been operating out of Carlsbad longer. We have intimate knowledge of what it takes to run a safe operation out of Carlsbad Airport (CRQ), which we call home. As we celebrate our 20th anniversary this year we are proud to say we have maintained a flawless safety record throughout.
Familiarity: When you fly with Schubach you see the same aircraft and flight crews. This sounds like a given but in todayâs aviation world many companies try to seem far larger than they are in reality. To fulfill this image, these companies broker aircraft leaving their clients with unfamiliar aircraft and crews that they will most likely never see again. As a large operator we manage our own aircraft allowing our customers to enjoy seeing the same crew and aircraft time after time. They are able to build a level of trust and confidence that wouldnât otherwise be possible.
True Flexibility: We mean it when we say that we have the most liberal cancellation policy in the industry. Industry standard is anywhere from 24-48 hours with a 50-100% cost of charter penalty. We like to think more long-term with our customers and understand that plans change, which is why we donât charge for cancellations for retail trips on our aircraft out of CRQ. Ask any other charter company about their cancellation policies and I know you will not be given the same liberties.
Service, Service, Service: We recognize that we are in business thanks to our loyal customers. Next to safety, genuine customer service is our top priority. We will take the time to understand what you value most when traveling and use our vast resources to ensure seamless flights down to the smallest detail. Nothing gives us greater pride than when our clients express how much the extra details mean to them and their families.
Community Outreach: Henry Schubach has always made it a point to give back to the San Diego community that has supported us for so long. We are involved with several charities and just last year donated 1 cent per mile flown to Helen Woodward Animal Shelter, an amount that added up to over $10,000.
If you currently fly with us you can rest assured that you have made the right choice. If you are considering flying with us I hope you give us the chance to show you the Schubach difference. I am confident that our values will match yours.
Travel Destination: South of France
I was lucky enough to  take a year long sabbatical from work in 2010 (thanks Henry) to travel around South America and Western Europe. I am frequently asked, of all our travels what was our favorite place. While itâs hard to name just one somewhere that definitely made a lasting impression was the Cote DâAzur, or South of France. This is also a popular travel destination with many of our charter clients and itâs not hard to imagine why.
The Cote DâAzur airport is based right on the coastline in Nice and is in perfect proximity to all the best areas. While Nice is a large typical French city on the water, and Cannes, a smaller, more upscale version, the true gem lies on the coastal stretch between Nice and Monaco. The terrain in this area is far too rugged to build up with sky-high condominiums, the result being a string of small, quaint villages that havenât changed much since the glamour of the 1920âs. The most exclusive of these villages is Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, a peninsula covered with amazing homes and private beaches with world-class yachts.
The best time of the year to visit is June or September, when the crowds are minimal, the days are long and the crystal blue Mediterranean water temperature is perfect. The location is close enough to the infamous wine country of Provence and the Italian Riviera to make for some pretty amazing haute cuisine. For stunning views drive the coastal middle corniche (Princess Grace Highway) to EZE. A small, medieval village seemingly hanging from the cliffs. There are some fantastic hotels and private villas for accommodation.
Our Gulfstream IV or Challenger 601 can travel from San Diego to the Nice Airport in about 11-12 hours with just one stop. If you are interested in learning more please email me for pricing and availability at Kimberly@schubachaviaton.com

Welcome
Iâd like to be the first to welcome you to our new website. It is intended to inform you about all of our products and services, help you to plan your travel, and give you access to information you can use to make the right choice in private aircraft. We hope you find it useful, and welcome any input and suggestions you may have that you feel may improve it. Everyone in the company is accessible through the website, so feel free to contact us either here or directly on the phone anytime.
This new site is where youâll find all of the latest information on our fleet as well as new services available. For example, in September weâll be adding another Hawker 800xp to our fleet of mid-size aircraft, which will make us one of the largest operators of this exceptional aircraft on the West Coast. In addition, weâve recently added an immaculate Gulfstream G-IVSP, which not only offers global reach, but features on board Wi-Fi so you can stay in touch. The addition of this aircraft brings our intercontinental fleet up to three aircraft, each with its own unique advantage and appeal. There are additional newer aircraft âin the pipelineâ as we move to update our aircraft offerings, which weâll be writing about in the coming weeks and months, all with an eye toward improving your travel experience.
Our new hangar & office facilities also enable us to provide a better experience for you, with spacious customer lounges and waiting areas, improved ramp-side service as well as conference and meeting facilities right here. In addition, this new facility is totally solar powered for a smaller environmental footprint.
In closing, everyone on the Schubach Aviation team would like to thank all of our customers for your support over the years. Next year will mark our 20th anniversary in the San Diego area, milestone that would not be possible without your support.

Selling Quality of Life
A few months ago I attended the NBAA Annual Leadership Conference. It was exciting to be surrounded by some of the top leaders in our industry, to converse with them and to learn form their vast and varied experience.
The keynote Speaker was a San Diego local that has personally utilized our services here at Schubach Aviation. In speaking to us aviation professionals he surmised that what we really provide is not just a mode of transportation but quality of life. Less time spent in lines, on layovers, delays, and indirect routing and more time to spend with your loved ones, being productive, or doing the things you enjoy. If your destination is in a rural location, flying private can typically get you to a much closer airport than taking the airlines, saving on sometimes hours of driving time. Not to mention that in todayâs world, commercial airports can mean a somewhat stressful environment.
From a business standpoint you can visit more cities in one day and fly the direct route ideal for your schedule avoiding overnights and excess travel time. This also equals more quality time spent in the office.
It was fantastic to hear directly from a client what the value of our service means to him. While Iâve always understood the intangible worth we provide in terms of time saving, overall quality of life is admittedly not something I had given much thought. In our work-driven, western society, I think we sometimes donât realize that itâs perfectly acceptable to want and to work for quality of life. Otherwise, whatâs the point of all that hard work?
Schubach Aviation Granted Overflight Authority.
With the recent opening of US Customs at the Carlsbad Palomar Airport, Schubach Aviation has been granted overflight permits by the US Customs and Border Protection for itâs fleet of aircraft. Schubachâs valued customers can now enjoy the convenience of flying directly into Palomar Airport to clear customs as they return from international trips. Previously an additional customs stop was required before proceeding to Carlsbad.
Schubach has also been granted overflight permission for San Diego International, Palm Springs International, Long Beach and LAX.
