 CJ3 in flight
The Citation Jet Was designed with three main concepts; simplicity, economy, and performance. Cessna succeeded in creating this design with an aerodynamic chasis which was financially viable to to make, and still handles well. The Citation family took another logical step and changed the wing configuration from straight wing to natural laminar flow wings, which are swept back. This decreased drag and added further fuel efficiency, which helped add range. The CJ3 is faster and flies higher and smoother then previous models, while maintaining the same same fuel economy and operating costs. Overall CJ3 was another success for Cessna. The CJ3 is well suited for short and medium range flights. Exceptional speed and functional comfort make the CJ3 a popular choice for getting there on time.
